Hello Yogis!

As I promised... but of course, I had already planned on sharing this with you all.

If you know me well, and some of you do, I play a lot with essential oils. That's what I call the yoga of nature, essential oils that help us along the way. It's not that I use essential oils in class, at least not very often. Once in a while I'll bring some EO to share with students who would enjoy some aromatherapy at the end of class. Traditionally, however, that is a bit against the code, but as the pirates say... "hang the code!" Sometimes I do...

I do use my EO magic potions for recovery though. I teach a lot of classes, I have my own practice, and sometimes my body just screams at me to remind me I'm going overboard. To help me recover and to minimize soreness (yes... 10 years later and I still get sore!), I use the following potion... the Save My Sore Muscles Potion:

In a spray bottle (1 or 2 oz)

Lemongrass (great for cell repair, it helps ligaments as well)

Wintergreen (for the cool/hot effect)

Copaiba (anti inflammatory, also helps with cell recover)

Aroma Touch (this is a proprietary blend by doTerra, excellent for massage and relaxation)

1TBSP of Castor Oil

Complete with coconut or sesame oil

With EO, in my opinion, less is more. I play with the amounts of drops for each oil, so my blend is quite "intuitive..." 3 drops lemongrass... 5 drops wintergreen... 5 drops copaiba... 8 drops Aroma Touch... but it can all change for the next formula. Feel free to experiment yourself. I confess I created this blend for my husband, after his hip surgery. He had a lot of sore muscle issues as he started walking more, and I wanted to help him as naturally as possible. I was very pleased with the results, so I started to use it myself. Again, I'm pleased!

Finally, I would like to write a little disclaimer here: first, I'm not advertising any specific oil brand. I do use doTerra a lot, but I use other brands too. Nowadays, we have so many options that it's up to each of us to do our homework and find the one brand we like the most. Secondly, my sharing of this Save My Sore Muscles Potion has no intention to heal, cure or medicate anyone. Always consult your doctor... sometimes the issue is bigger than it seems. Be smart!

Enjoy this magic potion and share it with your friends! I'll have more magic coming to you in future blogs.

Be Yoga,

Cel
